Looks like the New South Wales government is out to tackle the gambling industry with the latest sports betting commercial ban which was issued very recently. The ban is specifically targeted towards commercials promoting live odds betting that appear on sports broadcast.
According to gambling news, the gambling industry in New South Wales is about to take a foreseeable hit with the latest sports betting commercial ban issued by the local government which will only be taking effect sometime in March 2016.
It seems like the main concern among officials is that such commercials promote impulsive activity that prompted many to immediately attempt to start to bet on sports in Australia without being aware of the risks and consequences of doing so.
Gambling Industry Will Be Slightly Dented But Won’t Collapse Due to Sports Betting Commercial Ban
Naturally, this ban did not come as a piece of thrilling and exciting news to the gaming industry. Even though unhappy operators in the gaming industry may attempt to try and get the new regulations repealed, odds of that happening are still extremely low.
Despite officials’ efforts to curb internet betting activities, let’s face it: The popularity of online sportsbook is still growing at an alarming rate in Australia due to the large interest in both sports and wagering. While the ban is sure to create a stumbling block, it is highly unlikely for the Australian gambling industry to collapse from it because of its existing huge customer base.
