A new Mississippi daily fantasy sports bill, which would authorize and regulate operators in the state, was passed by the senate.
After a rocky path, the Mississippi daily fantasy sports bill has finally made its way to the governor’s desk. US gambling news reported that the original bill was first turned into a lottery bill than later it got rewritten into daily fantasy sports bill. Now, the bill is only a signature away from becoming law, authorizing daily fantasy sports in Mississippi until July of 2017.

If signed by Governor Phil Bryant, the bill will establish the Fantasy Contest Task Force to oversee and regulate operators. Interestingly, the operators won’t be required to pay a licensing fee to enter the Mississippi market. However, the violation of the laws will result in a USD 10,000 fine.
