Starters

The best of the best in the East, it’s hard to take the starting spot from these guys. We picked these five players based on this season’s stats and their popularity. The latter plays a big part in the voting process.

Kevin Durant is Keeping the Nets’ Playoff Hopes Alive

KD has been one of the best and most popular players for more than a decade. It’s impossible for him not to earn an All-Star selection. The Nets started the season horribly but they gained a lot of momentum recently. Brooklyn currently have a 19-12 record and are 4th in the East. They won 9 of their last 10 games. Follow the Nets’ progress on Bovada.

The soon-to-be 13-time All-Star is averaging 30.4 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 5.9 APG across 30 games. There’s also a high chance that KD will win another scoring title this year. We believe Durant has the best shot at receiving the most votes out of the Eastern Conference. Even if he isn’t selected as team captain, KD will no doubt be a starter at the 2023 NBA All-Star game.

Giannis – 2023 NBA Eastern All-Star Predictions

Giannis is one of the best and most likable basketball players in the world. He’s a favorite for the MVP every single season. Initially, the Bucks are among the title favorites each year as well. After about two months into the season, Milwaukee have the best record in the league with 21-8. Let’s see the Greek Freak’s contribution to this.

The two-time MVP is averaging 30.6 PPG, 11.1 RPG, and 5.3 APG in 24 games for the Bucks this season. He also finished the past seven seasons with more than 1.0 blocks and steals per game. He’s the only player in history to do this in multiple seasons while putting up more than 25, 10, and 5. Online gambling sites in the US usually have special bets for Antetokounmpo so keep an eye out for those.

Jayson Tatum is a Certified All-Star Starter This Season

Tatum and the Celtics started the season extremely well but they struggled a bit recently. They had a 20-5 record in the first 25 games but have gone 2-4 since then. This tarnished Tatum’s MVP odds a bit but they’ll bounce back in no time. Let’s see why the 2023 NBA All-Star Eastern predictions believe the 24-year-old is a clear candidate.

Tatum is averaging 30.2 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 4.1 APG in 29 games for Boston this season. He’s also getting the most playing time in the league with an average of 37 minutes per game. The Celtics are not only title favorites, they have an MVP favorite and the Coach of the Year favorite as well. We’ll see how things turn out until the 2023 NBA All-Star game.

James Harden Needs to Wake up if He Wants to Keep His Starting Position

Harden’s career became a rollercoaster since the 2020-21 season. He only played 44 games that season and a further 65 in the following year. The Beard also switched teams three times within two seasons. His numbers are nothing too fancy this season but Harden can still show glimpses of greatness from time to time.

The 10-time All-Star is averaging 22.4 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 10.6 APG for Philly this season. But he only played in 14 games, which is a huge blow for the 76ers, considering Embiid’s injuries too. Harden’s advantage is his popularity. If he can increase his work rate until February, he could potentially be a starter at the 2023 NBA All-Star game.

Donovan Mitchell is the Best Guard in the East Right Now

Mitchell is having the best season of his career so far. The Cavs are a quiet team but we wouldn’t say their success is fully unnoticed as many people are aware of how good they are this year. As of 19 December, Cleveland have the third-best record in the league and are 3rd in the East with 20-11. They have a well-balanced team but Mitchell has been their brightest star.

The 26-year-old is averaging 29.5 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 4.6 APG in 27 games for the Cavs. Nearly all of his averages are better than last season but the most notable is his shooting splits. Mitchell is shooting 50-42-88 this season and has an extremely high-efficiency rating. If he keeps this up, he’s destined to be a starter at the 2023 NBA All-Star game.

Reserves

Seeing some of these players among the reserves could be shocking to some of you. But the competition is hard and if the candidates were selected today, these players would be reserves. However, keep in mind that some of these guys could potentially make it into the starters as well.

Will Joel Embiid be a Starter at the 2023 NBA All-Star Game?

Embiid already missed eight games for the 76ers this season but when he plays, he balls out. The 5-time All-Star is leading the league in points per game, averaging 33.3 PPG in 20 games so far. He’s also averaging 9.9 RPG, 4.7 APG, and 1.6 BPG. It’s strange to see him among the reserves with these stats. However, we don’t think he’ll beat any of the previously mentioned three forwards for a starting position.

The 76ers are 16-12 as of 19 December but they could be much better if Embiid and Harden played together more frequently. Online gambling sites in the US still consider the center a top 5 favorite for the MVP but his chances are far from the top 3’s. However, if the 28-year-old can stay healthy, this is bound to change.

Pascal Siakam – 2023 NBA Eastern All-Star Predictions

Siakam didn’t earn an All-Star selection since the 2019-20 season but his averages are better this time around. The Raptors have been struggling a lot this season and their best player also missed 10 games already. Toronto are 10th in the East with a 13-17 record after nearly two months into the season.

The 28-year-old is averaging 24.3 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 6.8 APG in 20 games for the Raptors this season. His shooting averages are a bit worse than his overall career stats but he could still earn an All-Star selection. Siakam is also playing fewer minutes than last season but is still putting up better numbers. Watch his odds from to time on Bovada.

Is DeMar DeRozan the only Consistent Chicago Bull This Season?

Deebo earned his 5th All-Star selection last season after missing out for three consecutive years before that. He played 76 regular season games last year and averaged more minutes than this time around. However, we believe he could squeeze into the Eastern reserves.

DeRozan is averaging 25.9 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 4.7 APG in 29 games for Chicago so far. The Bulls are struggling a lot this season and neither LaVine’s inconsistency nor Lonzo’s injuries are helping their cause. Since his numbers are consistent and decent, our 2023 NBA All-Star predictions must include DeMar.

The Return of Kristaps Porzingis

This is a tough call. If we had to rank the 12 All-Stars from the East, Porzingis would be most likely selected 12th. The Unicorn had bad luck with injuries and he only played over 60 games twice out of 7 seasons. However, we have a feeling this year could be different. To most people’s surprise, Porzingis has been the Wizards’ most consistent player this season.

The 27-year-old is averaging 22.4 PPG, 8.9 RPG, and 2.7 APG in 29 games so far. Additionally, his block and steal averages are also above 1.0 per game. Another impressive stat is his playing time. Porzingod is playing 32.8 minutes per game, tied for the most in his career. Make sure to follow his odds on Bovada and don’t be surprised if he earns an All-Star selection this season.

Will Trae Young’s Horrible Shooting Keep Him out of the 2023 NBA All-Star Game?

If we look at plain numbers, 2022-23 seems like Trae’s third-best season of his career. But his shooting averages have been terrible. After 27 games, Young is shooting 40-28-89. These numbers are horrible when you remember that he’s a perimeter shooter. Along with these numbers, he’s averaging 27.0 PPG, 2.7 RPG, and 9.9 APG.

Even with their struggles, we could see the Hawks make it into the play-in tournament. They’re exactly .500 after 30 games and are 8th in the East. Due to the lack of high-performing guards in the East, we could see Trae earn his 3rd All-Star selection this season.

Jaylen Brown Could be a Potential Starter in His 2nd All-Star Game

Brown will likely take Harden’s starting spot at the 2023 NBA All-Star game. We only picked the Beard over him because of his popularity. Brown has been both better and more consistent than Harden this season. In 29 games for the Celtics, he’s averaging 26.4 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 3.5 APG.

This is the 26-year-old’s best season of his career so he’s bound to be selected for the All-Star game. Out of the Eastern reserve guards, he also has the highest chance of being a starter. Do not sleep on Brown. On some days, he’s even better than Tatum.

Tyrese Haliburton – 2023 NBA Eastern All-Star Predictions

Haliburton has been a nice surprise this season. So much so that he’s among the top 3 favorites for the 2023 NBA Most Improved Player award. Even though the Pacers plummeted a lot since the start of the season, Haliburton remained capable. The 22-year-old is averaging 19.5 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 10.7 APG (league-best) in 29 games for Indiana.

We most likely have a potential first-time All-Star here. Online gambling sites in the US also seem to favor Haliburton so make sure to follow his odds as well. He’s a clear pick for our 2023 NBA All-Star predictions.
