New predictions for the 2023 NBA All-Star Western Conference players
The 2023 NBA All-Star game is scheduled for February 19 but the voting starts on December 25. In this article, we’re going to give you our best predictions for the All-Star game Western Conference lineup. We’ll be focusing mainly on the starters but the potential reserves will get some attention as well.
All-Star weekend is one of the most entertaining parts of the NBA. It includes multiple events but the Sunday night All-Star game is the biggest of them all. Below you’ll find our predictions for the starters and reserves that will be available from the Western Conference. All of these guys’ progress can be followed on Bovada as well.
Western Conference Starting Forwards
There are always three starting forwards in an All-Star game, which can include centers as well. These three players have been above the rest of the competition this season so far. Based on their skills and popularity we believe they’ll be selected as starters for the 2023 NBA All-Star game.
LeBron James to Continue Breaking Records at the All-Star Game
LeBron has been the team captain ever since the new format was introduced in 2018. Before that, he’s been a starter in all of his All-Star game appearances. The King is set to tie Kareem for the most All-Star selections in history (19) in a couple of months. James will likely be selected as team captain this year as well.
If Anyone Needed a Reminder, Nikola Jokic is Still the Best Center in the League
The reigning MVP might not be a frontrunner for the award this year but he’s still one of the best players in the league. After 24 games, Jokic is averaging 24.6 PPG, 10.3 RPG, and 9.0 APG in 32.5 minutes per game. He’s the best center in the league and it’s almost a guarantee that he’ll be a starter at the 2023 NBA All-Star game.
Anthony Davis Can be Scary on the Court When Healthy – 2023 NBA All-Star
The Brow has been the best player on the Lakers this season. Davis is averaging 28.1 PPG, a league-best 12.4 RPG, and 2.2 BPG. He’s among the top five favorites for the 2023 NBA DPOY as well. When he is healthy, he is a force on the court.
We believe AD will be made a start at the All-Star game. If he’s not injured, Davis will make his 9th All-Star appearance.
2023 NBA Western All-Star Predictions – A Guard-Heavy Conference
Modern-day basketball is dominated by guards. And what better players to select for the All-Star game than these guys? Expect plenty of impressive plays by this season’s Western guards.
Luka Doncic is a Nightmare to Play Against
Doncic has been an MVP favorite since the season started. He’s developed into a complete player and is the only reason the Mavs aren’t at the bottom of the West. In his quest for his first MVP award, Luka is averaging 33.0 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 8.7 APG in 26 games for Dallas. He’ll earn his 4th All-Star selection in no time.
Stephen Curry is Highly Expected to be a Starter at the 2023 NBA All-Star Game
The reigning Finals MVP has been keeping the Warriors afloat this season. Unfortunately, he recently went down with a should injury that could keep him off the court until January.
However, due to his insane stats and popularity, Curry is expected to be a starter at the 2023 NBA All-Star game. Steph is averaging 30.0 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 6.8 APG in 26 games for Golden State.
The Talent Pool is Great Among the Western Reserves
If you can make it into an All-Star game you’re already doing great. Being selected to the reserves is a huge honor as well. Frankly, the competition is tough this season and these forwards have been putting up a show.
Pelicans Flying High after Zion’s Return
Zion was already popular before he entered the league. New Orleans is among the best teams in the league this season and their star forward is shining. Zion is averaging 25.3 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 4.4 APG in 23 games. He could potentially be a starter but we’re leaning towards a reserves selection in our 2023 NBA Alll-Star lineup predictions.
Domantas Sabonis is Quietly Making the Kings Great Again
Sacramento has a well-balanced roster this season but Sabonis has been their best player so far. The 26-year-old is averaging 17.5 PPG, 11.6 RPG, and 6.4 APG in 27 games so far.
Furthermore, the Kings are off to their best start to a season in more than a decade. We predict Sabonis will earn his 3rd All-Star selection this year.
Karl-Anthony Towns vs Lauri Markkanen – Who Deserves the All-Star Selection More?
KAT has been quiet this season. Statistically, this is his second-worst season since his 2015-16 rookie season. He’s also been more injury-prone so we’re not sure he’ll make it into the All-Star game. It’s a coin toss between him and Lauri Markkanen. Keep an eye on both of them with Bovada.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – MVP Chants, Most Improved Favorite, and First-Time All-Star
The Thunder struck gold with the 24-year-old. Shai is averaging 31.0 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 5.8 APG in 26 games this season. The team is still in a terrible position but the future is bright. Gilgeous-Alexander is also the clear frontrunner for the 2023 NBA Most Improved Player award. He’s set to make his first All-Star appearance this season. If any of the starters are injured during All-Star weekend, we expect Shai will be among the first players to be considered as a replacement.
Ja Morant is Still that Guy – 2023 NBA Western All-Star Predictions
Morant and the Grizzlies slowly and surely took over the West. They have the first seed in the conference with a 19-9 record as of December 16.

Morant is in the fourth and best season of his career so far. He’s averaging 27.6 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 7.9 APG in 23 games for Memphis. Make sure to follow his progress on online sportsbooks in the US.
Damian Lillard is Back and Expected to Return to the All-Star Game as Well
After missing the majority of last season, Dame is back to remind everyone what type of player he is. Lillard is averaging 28.8 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 7.1 APG in 16 games this season.
He’s playing less than expected but as long as the Blazers stay in potential playoff contention things will be alright. We predict Lillard will make it into the lineup for the 2023 NBA All-Star game.
Devin Booker – Early 2023 NBA Western All-Star Predictions
Booker was recently selected as the Player of the Month in November for the West. The Suns have been struggling a bit lately and fell down a couple of seeds, but Booker’s stats have been good. He’s averaging 26.9 PPG, 4.7 RPG, and 5.8 APG. This won’t be enough to earn a starting position but we’re sure he’ll make his 4th All-Star appearance in February.
