Nevada Gaming Control Board approves Leroy’s Sportsbook mobile betting app for field testing
Leroy’s Sportsbook, operating in full compliance with American gambling laws, has partnered up with Computerized Bookmaking Systems, race and sports software provider, to come up with a mobile betting app for iPhone. The app will be compatible with the latest iOS5 and will also work flawlessly on the iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4S.
Recently, the joint application has been approved for field testing by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The application becomes the first mobile sports betting app to be released by one of online sportsbooks in United States. The iPhone app will compliment Leroy’s already existing Android and BlackBerry mobile applications.
John English, Senior Vice President of American Wagering Inc., the parent company of Leroy’s Sportsbook, told United States gambling news: “We are grateful the Gaming Control Board, the Commission, and their respective staff have embraced the vision of the future with mobile wagering and our account based systems.”
He went on to add: “Their work to review and approve our technical advancements serves only to improve the industry as a whole and to better serve the customer. The addition of the iPhone is a huge leap forward.”
Vic Salerno, President of Leroy’s, commented: “Leroy’s is everywhere, for everyone, at anytime, and we’ve been here for 33 years. I have been doing this a long time. You see over time what works and what doesn’t. I can tell you that mobile betting is where we are heading and I believe the rest of the gaming industry will follow, in the meantime we will continue to lead.”
The company also plans to introduce a separate mobile app for Apple iPad and also diversify into additional smartphones.
