Microgaming bagged two awards for their innovation in the field of casino gaming at the prestigious Global Gaming Awards.
Microgaming was the in the center of attention at this year’s Global Gaming Awards. On the 28th of September, the renowned casino software developer scored two awards at the Venetian Palazzo Congress Center in Las Vegas. Their Jurassic Park slot was chosen as the Digital Product of Year and their second award was for Digital Gaming Innovation.
The reasons why the Jurassic Park slot became the Digital Product of the Year
The Global Gaming Awards honor the years’ greatest achievements in land-based and digital gaming. They hand out 12 awards to winners that were selected by 50 judges in a completely transparent voting system. Among others, the committee rewards the Land-based Operator of the year, Casino Product of the year, Customer Loyalty Program of the year and the Digital Operator of the year.
Not surprisingly, Microgaming’s Jurassic Park slot became the Digital Product of the Year, for its pioneering features. It is the first slot that implements Parallax Scrolling effects, which means that the background images move slower than the forefront pictures, therefore creating a feeling of depth. Presenting all the memorable dinosaurs, the Jurassic Park slot is available for all devices in both online and mobile casinos. Several casinos offer this (really!) amazing slot, we even offered some exclusive bonuses for it. Digital Gaming Innovation in 3D casino gaming
For the Digital Gaming Innovation award there were nine other competitors in line. Microgaming secured the award with their Oculus Rift utilizing VR Roulette. Oculus Rift is a wearable gadget, more specifically a head-mounted display that transports the user to virtual reality. Connected with Microgaming’s VR Roulette, the player can enter a realistic 3D casino in the cyberspace. According to US gambling news, Microgaming will experiment with even more Virtual Realty Apps for numerous different devices. “For those that have seen our slots work on smart watches and experienced our VR Roulette product, it is an incredible insight into the future of online gaming,” commented Microgaming’s proud CEO, Roger Raatgever.
