Major casino developer MGM Resorts is giving up on of one of its gambling venues based in Nevada.
MGM Resorts International, one of the largest casino operators licensed under American gambling laws, is selling one of its Nevada-based properties. The company has recently signed a deal to sell the Gold Strike Hotel & Gambling Hall to JETT Gaming and Jean Ventures. The agreement includes all related assets.
Located in the Jean area of the US state, the Gold Strike is certainly not one of the company’s most luxurious hotels, or home to one of the largest American poker rooms out there. But its location at just over 30 miles from Las Vegas is an advantage.
A chance for new developments
The two parties did not disclose the terms of the deal, but it looks like finalizing it is contingent upon regulatory approvals and additional paperwork.
MGM executive vice-president Dan D’Arrigo told reporters: “As we continue to review and refine our portfolio of properties, and focus on new developments in international and regional markets, we have agreed to sell Gold Strike Hotel & Gambling Hall to JETT Gaming and Jean Ventures.”
JETT Gaming manager Tim Herbst added: “We are pleased with the opportunity to purchase Gold Strike and the surrounding property. We will continue to evaluate our plans for the site as we work diligently to get this transaction completed.”
