Malta Ready To Host PokerStars EPT This Year

European Poker Tour (EPT) teams up with Hilton Malta and VisitMalta to host the world’s richest and most popular poker tour.
PokerStars European Poker Tour which will take place in Malta from March 17-28 at the Portomaso Casino. Featured are 24-hour cash games running. Malta EPT is said to be the biggest European Poker Tour festival ever held. This is because there will be a record number of tournaments at EPT, which is approved under Malta gambling laws, this year. Since 2004, the EPT has paid out over EUR 665 million in tournament prize pools and hosted successful festivals across Europe.
The Tour has partnered with VisitMalta, Malta’s Tourist board, to highlight all the tourist attraction on the Mediterranean island. In addition to hosting EPT and hundreds of PokerStars online poker player qualifiers, Hilton Malta will be the Official Hotel Sponsor of EPT Malta. There will be 69 tournaments and over 30 cash game tables available to enjoy during a 12 day period and is set to be a truly memorable PokerStars event.

EPT Malta is offering more poker than ever before in the Tour’s 11-year history. Mr Paul Bugeja, The Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) CEO, told gambling news reporters that “As Malta’s Tourism Authority we are happy to support PokerStars in holding the prestigious European Poker Tour in Malta. This event will definitely provide Malta an opportunity to enhance our reputation in this particular niche”
Also being showcased at Malta’s EPT is the EUR 1,100 IPT Malta Main Event and the EPT High Roller double, a EUR 25,500 buy-in on March 18, and a EUR 10,300 buy-in on March 27, each with an optional single re-entry. While on March 19, the highlight of the Suesswaren Grasel Day will be the Tour’s official chocolate sponsor offering chocolate Easter eggs to participants in every tournament scheduled that day.
Not to be missed is the invitation-only Charity Poker Tournament scheduled on March 21. The proceedings will go to fund Right To Play, PokerStars’ official charity partner. Right To Play uses the power of sport and play to change the lives of children worldwide. Over 2,500 volunteers from around the world will help change the lives of 185,000 children, this year. The crown jewel of the schedule is the EUR 5,300 EPT Malta Main Event, which will be webcast live from May 24-28 on PokerStars TV network.
