Latin Poker Millions Brings American Poker Pro Carter Gill $175,000 in Cash

Carter Gill won $175,000 at the Latin Series of Poker Millions which started this weekend.
The inaugural $1 million guaranteed poker event took place at the Majestic Casino in Panama City. After successfully passing the qualifying tournaments held in Costa Rican, Peruvian, Columbian, Chilean, Dominican and Mexican poker rooms, 1,290 entrants paid a buy-in of $850 to get a chance at winning the grand prize.
American professional player Carter Gill, Alon Raz, Maziar Keshavarzi, Leonardo Tarazona, Jose “Nacho” Barbero, Francis Cruz, Adam Reynolds, Oscar Ortiz and Guillermo Echevvaria got to sit down at the final table. Gill, who won first place, was at his fifth final table in Latin America, after appearing in Uruguay, Colombia (twice) and Panama.
Pros at the final table
The American professional proved to be a worthy opponent. Good cards combined with skills and experience eventually got him the big prize. The final table also included poker pro Jose “Nacho” Barbero, as well as online pros Guillermo Echevvaria and Francis Cruz.
According to local gambling news, pay-outs ranged from $16,500 to $175,000. Here are the actual figures:
