Swedish poker ace Viktor Blom best known as Isildur1 and Poker Stars part ways peacefully.
The renowned Swedish poker pro Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has quit Team Poker Start Pro. The sponsorship contract between the poker ace and one of the biggest online poker sites in Sweden and worldwide has expired and the parties mutually agreed not to renew it.
Blom has joined the Poker Stars Pro Team in 2011 and during his time as one of the Poker Stars faces showcased his remarkable poker skills on numerous occasions. While playing in full compliance with Swedish gambling laws he managed to win 11 out of 14 Poker Stars SuperStar Showdown matches, collecting over $1 million in winnings.
Another notable achievement of his was the win at 2012 Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure High Roller event, which brought him $1,254,000.
Viktor managed to keep his identity secret for quite some time, when the whole poker world wondered who was that guy beating up some of the most renowned poker aces online. After Isildur1 was revealed as Viktor Blom, Poker Stars wasted no time in signing him up.
Eric Hollreiser, Poker Stars communications chief, told Sweden gambling news: “In his short time as a poker player, Viktor has played against the biggest names in poker at the highest stakes in the toughest games. It’s hard to recall a player who has kept the poker world so riveted at such an early stage of his career. We’ll be watching with great interest and we wish him nothing but success.”
Viktor Blom himself also commented the departure from Poker Stars: “I’ve enjoyed my time as a Team Pro and I wish everyone at Poker Stars the best.” He also added that he will now only focus on playing poker.
