The last season of the MLB was one of the most exciting in history. Now, a number of 2017 World Series betting underdogs are already emerging. Who will you pick?

The 117th season of the MLB will officially begin on April 2nd. The World Series outright betting odds have already been released, and some MLB analysts are surprised by the results. We already covered some of the betting favorites to win, now let’s break down some of the best 2017 World Series betting underdogs.

San Francisco Giants: 17.00

The Giants are one of the most successful teams in the MLB in the past decade. They won the World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014, and played admirably in 2016 but failed to make it to the finals. Now, San Francisco is one of the best teams to bet on to win the 2017 World Series.

2017 World Series Betting Underdogs

  • San Francisco Giants: 17.00
  • Kansas City Royals: 29.00
  • Oakland Athletics: 101.00

This past December, the Giants signed Mark Melancon to their roster. Melancon was one of the best pitchers last season, and could be the type of player to help the Giants break their odd year curse. Other mainstay players like the Buster Posey and Hunter Pence will also be tasked with leading their team to a 2017 World Series win.

With Intertops odds of 17.00, the Giants are one of the most exciting 2017 World Series betting underdogs. The addition of Melancon will surely help their chances.

Kansas City Royals: 29.00

The Kansas City Royals always seem to fly under the radar. In 2014, they managed to advance into the World Series and lost one of the most exciting championships in history 2-3 in the seventh game of the series to the Giants. In 2015, the once again earned their sport in the World Series, but this time they took the trophy home.

Despite most online sportsbooks in the US predicting the Royals would be one of the top teams in 2016, they went just 81-81 throughout the preseason and failed to make the playoffs. Now, they are one of the biggest 2017 World Series betting underdogs, and baseball betting experts can’t understand why.

The Royals are still one of the best teams in the MLB right now. Eric Hosmer and Alex Gordon are arguably the best players on the Royals, and will be instrumental in their attempt to earn their 2nd World Series win in the past 3 years. Intertops lists the Royal’s odds to win the World Series at 29.00 which could earn you serious cash if they win.

Oakland Athletics: 101.00

Okay, this one is a little out of left field, but you can’t make a list of the best 2017 World Series betting underdogs without throwing a curveball (no pun intended). The Oakland Athletics may never relive the glory days they lived during Billy Beane’s early 2000 streak, but they can still be a top team.

2017 World Series Betting Favorites

  • Chicago Cubs: 5.00
  • Boston Red Sox: 7.00
  • Washington Nationals: 11.00

The Athletics finished last season last in the American League Western Division with a meager record of 69-93. The A’s have a number of amazing players including Sonny Gray and Yonder Alonso, but some MLB betting analysts feel the team would benefit from a fresh crop of young players.

As we mentioned before, the Athletics finished last in the American League Western Division last year. If they manage to make the playoffs it would make US gambling news, and winning the World Series would be a massive upset. Anything’s possible, and with odds of 101.00, they are one of the best MLB teams to bet on in 2017.
