GTECH has announced that the company is about to rebrand as IGT after completing the deal with the gaming products designer company.
US gambling news states that one of the greatest mergers in the history of the gambling sector has happened last year after GTECH has confirmed that they had acquired IGT. The deal was completed in July, 2014, and last week the Nevada Gaming Control Board agreed for the deal between the two companies to go ahead.
The interactive gaming software and services provider GTECH merged with IGT in order to become one of the biggest leaders in the lottery and gaming industry in the world. They will be aiming to introduce innovative gaming content for their loyal customer base.
The new name of GTECH will be IGT
As part of the new company’s identity, GTECH will adopt the name International Game Technology (IGT). In addition they will change the logo as Marco Sala, the executive officer of GTECH, said. “The combination of GTECH and IGT brings together two highly complementary legacy businesses to form the true blue chip company in global gaming. Our new logo, marrying the IGT name and the iconic GTECH globe, draws upon the substantial brand equity of our two companies.”
Online gambling sites in the US have information on how the new staff of the new company will resemble. Sala will continue to be the chief executive officer for the entire group while Renato Ascoli will be chief executive officer of North America. Walter Bugno will serve as international chief executive and Robert Vincent will become senior vice-president of human resources and corporate communications.
