The next event of the 2020-21 PGA Tour is the Genesis Invitational tournament. It is held at the Riviera Country Club in Southern California between the 15-21 February. We can find all top players in the favorites from Dustin Johnson to Rory McIlroy with DJ leading the odds in the Genesis Invitational winner odds.
The first event in the area was organized 95 years ago under the name of Los Angeles Open and it moved to the Riviera Country Club in 1973. Though its name might have changed since, it is still a prestigious tournament with a great history. As it was here when 16-year-old Tiger Woods took part in his first PGA Tour tournament. Sadly he has to miss this year’s event due to his injury, but his foundation hosts the star-packed event. As twelve of the top 15 golfers will compete at the Genesis Invitational including world No1 Dustin Johnson. Who has also won here once in 2017 and can easily repeat this result again. From the still active players Bubba Watson has the most wins with three, while Australian golfer Adam Scott is the defending champion.
Genesis Invitational winner odds favor DJ to win again
We can hardly find any event where Dustin Johnson hasn’t finished at least in the top 10 in the last few months. What’s more, he has won five tournaments since last summer including the 2020 Masters. The world No1 is still in great form after winning the Saudi International two weeks ago. He also has good results in Los Angeles after finishing six times in the top four. Johnson also won the tournament in 2017 and has the odds of +600 at Bet Online to repeat this result in the Genesis Invitational winner odds.
Online sportsbooks in the US mention world No2 Jon Rahm and world No7 Rory McIlroy as the next favorites with the odds of +1200. Rahm hasn’t won any tournament since his victory at the BMW Championship in Illinois last August. But the Spanish golfer finished in the top 10 four occasions. Including his T7 finish in the Masters. Where McIlroy has also achieved his best result of the season with a T5 finish. The former world No1 hasn’t got any win since November 2019 but he was playing well at Riviera last year. Until his triple bogey on the last day, finishing T5 at the end.
Former winners and players in top form
Justin Thomas has three top four finishes in the last few months. Including a third place finish in the Sentry Tournament in Hawaii this January. The world No3 was also close to winning in Los Angeles two years ago. But he wasted his lead and became only the runner-up. Now he has the odds of +1400 to get his 14th PGA Tour win. Xander Schauffele has the same odds on BetOnline to win after two T2 finishes in the last few weeks. He seems to be in top form and can achieve a great result in this tournament too.
Another player in great form is Daniel Berger who has just won his fourth PGA Tour title at Pebble Beach last week. He has seven top 5 finishes since the beginning of 2020. Thanks to these results he moved in the world ranking to the 13th place from outside of 100. Still online gambling sites in the US offer quite high odds, +3500 for his victory. While last year’s winner, Adam Scott got a T10 finish in the Farmers Insurance Open last month. The Australian player has a respectable history at Riviera. He is also the tournament’s all-time earnings leader. Now Scott has the odds of +3300 to get his second victory here.
