The Gaming Standards Association aims to establish a ‘universal online gaming standard’ for the industry in coming months.
The association hopes to make an impact and establish a universal online and mobile casino standard, at a series of planned meetings to be held in London, England in early April.
The meetings will be hosted by GSA member Playtech, and will cover all aspects of the current relationships between igaming companies and content providers and suppliers, as well as regulators and land-based operators.
Forward steps
Valery Gelfman, Playtech consultant and Chair of GSA’s Online Gaming Committee (OGC), stated: “A successful online gaming operation requires multiple integrations with third-parties including external content providers, monitoring authorities and, in many cases, brick and mortar operation. Playtech is pleased to work with GSA and help drive the effort towards establishing integration standards based on best practices. Such standards, without a doubt, will benefit all constituencies in the industry and help create value.”
Ethan Tower, protocol director at the GSA, commented: “The new standard will provide support for third party gaming interfaces, external interfaces, including geo-location and payment processors, and central monitoring for regulators.”
“GSA is moving forward quickly with the creation of standards to support the online gaming industry,” added GSA president Peter DeRaedt. “This is not the time for suppliers or operators to sit on the sidelines. We encourage all interested parties to jump in with both feet to ensure that their voices and opinions are heard as these important standards are being created and finalized.”
GSA has several games provider members, such as Konami and Gtech, and offer many online gambling sites in the UK and across multiple other countries worldwide.
