After running a gambling site without the proper accreditation, ex-Bitcoin boss Bryan Micon is facing 10 years of prison.
Bryan Micon, the previous head of the “Seals with Clubs” Bitcoin poker site, was accused of operating with an unlicensed online gambling site in US. Because of the charge Micon must attend a court hearing in Nevada this Thursday.
The former Bitcoin executive was persecuted since April for illegal activities on the gambling market. The charge came after the “Seals with Clubs”, one of world’s biggest and most popular poker site was shut down. These events followed a previous raid of the Nevada Gaming Commission officials in Micon’s home.
Frightening sentence for Micon
As a result of the episodes Micon fled with his wife and daughter from the United States to Antigua. He immediately complained for the police raid in his home by posting a YouTube video, which is now unavailable. According to what was said there, Mincon characterized the raid as “completely unnecessary” and a violation of his freedom.
The accusations that are raised against him included the violation of the Nevada Revised Statutes NRS 463.750(10b), and operation with an interactive gaming site without all appropriate licenses as required by State law NRS 463.160(1a). In case Micon is convicted he will be sentenced on up to 10 years in prison. A financial fine of around USD 50,000 is also included, reports gambling news.
