Fantasy Sports Operator DraftKingsGets Drafted By Disney and Partners Up With MLB

DraftKings draftsreal deals with Disney and MLB landing a$250m deal with the former and a deepensground-breaking relationship with the latter.
Walt Disney Company, the renowned Entertainment company, has just divulged its investment plan amounting to $250 million,for US fantasy sports operator,DraftKings. According to US gambling news, the investment will boost DraftKings’ value to around $900 million.“MLB has long been at the forefront of embracing new technologies to create superior fan experiences, and DraftKings couldn’t be happier to partner to continue that tradition of innovation”, said chief executive officer of DraftKings,Jason Robins.
Disney and the Hearst Corporation which are co-owners of ESPN, a global sports broadcasting operation has invited DraftKings to advertise on its platform. Despite DraftKings draft, FanDuel, a rival fantasy sports operator, will continue to advertise across ESPN but DraftKings claims exclusive rights to premium positions on each platform.Over the years DraftKings has successfully partnered up with famous sports bodies including NBA basketball, according to NBA history facts, NFL American football league and more recently,North America’s Major League Baseball (MLB).
DraftKings thrilled about exclusive partnership with MLB
The terms of the deal between MLB and DraftKings, who operates in the ‘grey areas’ of US gambling laws, stipulate that the sports fantasy operator will become the official daily fantasy game provider of the MLB. According to MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) executive vice-president business, Kenny Gersh,“Expanding our exclusive partnership with DraftKings will bring new and exciting ways for fans, particularly younger fans, to play daily fantasy baseball”.
In addition to offering fantasy sports fans a unique chance to play online casino games in the US, DraftKings will now offer MLB-DraftKings fantasy games on a daily basis. Games will be promoted by MLB viaits various media sites including the official MLB website, the MLBTV streaming service and its official social media platforms.DraftKings will also become an official sponsor of showpiece MLB events such as the All-Star Week. Moreover, the online operator will link up with participating MLB franchises to come up with market-specific wonderland experiences for fans.
