The Volunteer State’s senate has recently passed a bill that would legalize DFS in Tennessee.
Legal DFS in Tennessee could be a reality soon. State senators voted 29-1, approving a bill that would legalize DFS in Tennessee. Sen. Jack Johnson commented the story that appeared in US gambling news, saying, “There’s some question right now. It’s been going on for several years. Estimates are a million people in Tennessee. It’s like 55 million nationwide.”
It had to be clarified that DFS in Tennessee is no lottery
US gambling laws in Tennessee ban all lottery games except the state lottery. Therefore the lawmakers together with Attorney General Herbert Slatery had to describe daily fantasy sports as contests involving some skill to distinct them legally from lotteries.
The bill would ensure that operators offering DFS in Tennessee can work legally according to US gambling laws in the state. Guidelines still have to be created how operators can register and what fees they have to pay to obtain a DFS license in Tennessee.
