Despite a significant drop in online poker revenue, overall igaming profits have gone up in June.
Legalizing internet gambling in the US is proving to be a good move for states that took this step. The land-based casino industry is not as profitable as it used to be, and New Jersey is the perfect example for that, but online gambling sites seem to be doing better and better.
The Delaware Lottery has released its monthly financial report for June, and figures point to an increase in igaming revenue. Online poker sites in the US state have made less money, but overall profits have grown.
The total revenue generated by the local industry has reached $184,944 in June, recording an increase of 7.1% from the previous month, when profits were at $175,410.

The report shows Delaware’s online poker operators have taken a serious blow, with revenue falling 55% from $57,470 in May, to $25,607 last month. And this comes after another significant drop recorded in May. While online poker is at its lowest, online casino games have increased in popularity. In June, revenue from these types of games have jumped 124%.
Lawmakers are still undecided when it comes to internet gambling, but more and more states are taking steps to regulate the market. One group is fighting hard to convince politicians to change American gambling laws and prohibit online casino games, but New Jersey, Delaware and Nevada prove that the industry can be good for states looking for an extra source of income.
