Here we are again, right before the release of the next adventure book for Dungeons & Dragons. While most companies seek to move away from Hasbro by creating their own roleplaying sets (such as Critical Role), the game remains one of our most beloved hobbies. This time, we have decided to give Dungeon Masters some of our D&D gambling adventure ideas.

These are exciting adventures that have an element of gambling in them, one way or another. The perfect opportunity to let your players try gambling games, and of course, to have a mighty prompt for an adventure game. If you are interested in a hands-on experience with gambling games, please take inspiration from some of the online casino sites in the US. And now, let’s see what Tymora has to offer for us!

The Casino Heist – D&D Gambling Adventure Ideas

This is your usual go-to when it comes to gambling settings. You can either have the party be a group of criminals who try to perform a casino heist. Alternatively, you can work for the Harpers who are going to try to stop the criminals from robbing a casino. According to the D&D Beyond, the Keys From The Golden Vault book has everything you need to set up such an experience! You can use creative traps with enchanted objects in given rooms. Interesting guard patrols, and of course, professional gamblers disguised as something else.

A whole set of casino staff, and thousands of different ways in which the party can forge the story to acquire the goal: Money. A huge casino is just like a Dungeon, except no one is going to attack you, as long as you are not caught. If you wish to try a casino theme, please try out Ignition Casino to understand some of the game rules.

Tymora’s Temple

In Dungeons & Dragons, there are many deities. One of them is Tymora, the Goddess of adventurers who loves to gamble, take risks, and act bold. You can take this as one of the D&D gambling adventure ideas, or the shorter version from our casino oneshot ideas for dungeons & dragons. Essentially, in this setting, the part is going to visit the hidden Temple of Tymora for whatever reason.

The huge abandoned temple can be a huge dungeon hidden within a golden statue of Tymora. Inside the dungeon, there can be enchanted games of chance, and of course, many races who might inhabit the dungeon, such as Goblins who created their society based on who is the luckiest in gambling games. Your possibilities are endless.

The Treasure Map – D&D Gambling Adventure Ideas

Inspired by The Road To El Dorado, we have a great idea for a treasure map! Yes, you saw that right! Such a simple concept, forming the core of all fantasy stories. However, the reality is that the treasure map seems to have been forgotten by many people. Therefore, it is time to revive it! Let’s start whatever adventure you have in mind, by having your party win a treasure map on a gambling game.

As they have to find a ship, they will sail off to unknown lands, to find what they are looking for. Essentially, you can do whatever with the treasure map. Set up different challenges, enemies, puzzles, and monuments on the path. The goal can be whatever you desire it to be! Maybe they were scammed, and it was a scheme from the enemy all along. Potentially, you can integrate gambling games in the stops rather frequently.

The Infernal Casino Tournament

This theme is perfect for the Dungeons and Dragons gambler builds. Let us paint the picture for you: One of the major cities in Faerun has a new group of tieflings arriving in the city. For the first few sessions, you are going through a social RP where you get to meet some of them and see them building up their casino, as they are advertising their grand opening event for a tournament. Sounds amazing, right?

The party gets hooked and they decide to join the opening tournament, hoping to win the gigantic prize. As they enter, they find the whole city entering and playing. However, soon they notice ominous signs of devilish activities. Turns out, that the deeper you go down the levels of the casino, the closer you are to the actual business, which is signing contracts to those who amassed debt during gambling games. The bottom layer of the casino is Avernus!

Price Racing – D&D Gambling Adventure Ideas

There is another idea that can be implemented in any way you desire. And this is price racing! Therefore, you are essentially making your party bet on races, or even have one or more members participate in a given race. This can range from riding a dragon to being teleported to a world where Vedalken is racing each other Star Wars-style. According to the Bell of Lost Souls, Vedalken pursues perfection.

Thus, it wouldn’t be too far away for them to try and create the perfect racing machines. This can mix elements from F1, Obän, and Star Wars, using several books like Ravnica, Spelljammer, and of course Golden Vaults. Essentially, the price racing can be an element in your adventure, or make it the whole theme. As long as your party has fun, why shouldn’t you experiment with new themes?

The Adventurer’s Game

Lastly, from our D&D gambling adventure ideas. This could bring us to a similar theme as One Piece and many other world-adventuring stories. Essentially, instead of railroading the party into a story, just let them wander the world! Baldur’s Gate’s new casino announces that they hid away 6 chips all over Faerun. Several adventuring parties set off in a grand game of adventure to decide to pursue the chips.

This gives you an amazing chance to make new NPC-s and make the party either rival or cooperate with some of them. When they get a chip through a gigantic gambling challenge, like a roulette-shaped dungeon? According to the Dragon Cavern, you can purchase D&D chips, and maybe physically give them to your players. However, at the end of the campaign, they returned to Baldur’s Gate and raided, as it was a scheme by the casino to take over the city politically!
