Danish Defender At Villa Has More Hope Than Morten Olsen’s Side

The pressures on the individuals and teams that sit on the very pinnacles of professional sports are well known, even if that’s only because their lawyers drag them out as an excuse when they do something inexcusable in a nightclub somewhere. But for the Danish international side, and one player Danish defender in particular, this week has seen those pressures ramp up nicely as the Euro 2016 play-offs loom.
Danes Name New Squad
• Denmark Vs Sweden
• Euro 2016 play-offs
• New firepower found
Now if you like to bet on sports in Denmark you may already be aware that in the English Premier League right now there is no bigger whipping boy than Aston Villa. With just four points from 11 games their slide has been almost biblical in nature. When your best result so far in a season is a two-two draw with Sunderland the writing isn’t on the wall, the wall has fallen on you and crushed your legs. Villa face the dominant Man City next in the Premier League, so don’t go betting on them yet.
However Villa captain Micah Richards this week decided that there was nothing to worry about as under their new manager Remi Garde the newly returned Tetchi Jores Charlemagne Ulrich Okore, back from knee surgery, gave his side new hope. “I watched a few of the games he played last season and I was very impressed. He did very well. To have him back now is a huge boost” Although just what a difference the Danish defender will make as part of the Villa car crash remains to be seen.
However whilst that Danish defender tries to shore up the flood defenses of a team already drowning like Nich Pertuit in a shark tank, the Danish international side has had to come to terms with a problem at the other end of the field where they’ve been less than successful at finding the back of the net the requisite number of times to win matches. They’re up against neighbors and rivals Sweden in the Euro 2016 play-off games, so they’ve had to scout around for some new firepower.
Danish Defender Tetchi Jores Charlemagne Ulrich Okore Boosts Villa?
Danish defender Andreas Christensen saw inclusion in the Danish international squad announced by coach Morten Olsen this week, but it was almost certainly his ability to move into central midfield at whim that will have got him his place, his time at Borussia Monchengladbach well spent. He’ll be backing up Leon Andreasen whose been in Hannover and has done well in recent games especially in that key central midfield position.
Of course if you’re Danish gambling laws of football luck would see your national side fail to find the feet they need to finish in the final third of the pitch, you’d be mistaken as Viktor Fischer makes a return from Ajax where the young Dane grabbed a pair of goals in the Dutch side’s rampant destruction of Roda JC Kerkrade 6-0 on Saturday. He got their first and fourth in under an hour, something Morten Olsen will be hoping he can replicate against Sweden.
Whilst the odd Danish defender will be worrying about going up against Zlatan Ibrahimovic and co it’ll be Nicklas Bendtner up front who’ll be feeling the heat as his international form needs to step up, something his headed goal against Bayer Leverkusen for VFL Wolfsburg on Saturday might well indicate is in the offing, and Fischer who assisted in two more of his team’s six may well just feed him the balls required for him to do the business.
New Look Danish Team To Face Zlatan
Sweden will have looked over the newly announced team with interest, but unlike Danish defender Tetchi Jores Charlemagne Ulrich Okore (a name so good you have to use it twice) at Aston Villa, they have some reason for optimism. They go into the play-offs with a couple of 2-0 wins to their backs, having done well in their final two qualifying games, and I’m gambling news of the new Danish side isn’t causing Zlatan Ibrahimovic sleepless nights.
Whether or not the inclusion of Yussuf Poulsen will be causing some for Andreas Isaksson and his fellow Swedish goalkeepers is a matter of debate. In nine games for his nation he’s found the net but once, so some might say he’s due for something more, and Morten Olsen will be demanding it come the play-offs, but then he might just be another Danish striker who can’t finish and putting him on the field could be more of a risk than Denmark can afford to take.
ComeOn! Sportsbook shows that however you slice it Sweden have the advantage getting 2.25 to Denmark‘s 3.40 but given that it’s a local Scandinavian derby with their biggest rivals the shake up in the line up might just make those odds somewhat unfair, and indeed at that price Denmark become quite a nice bet as a surprise win against the Swedes is just not outside the realms of possibility, and if there was a time for this new team to pull it off, this would be it.
