This move stands to be beneficial for the bookmaker, club and the community. Everton will promote Coral’s services while the bookmaker pledges to contribute a portion of the proceeds from wagers on Everton matches back to the club’s community initiative.

Everton’s communications director Richard Kenyon touted the positive impact of the agreement on the community: “We also welcome the support they have shown for our charity Everton in the Community and their generous donation will go to further the important work being undertaken across Merseyside.”

While betting shops and online bookies like Coral are a common target of politicians in the UK, in reality they pay billions of pounds in taxes and are major contributors to public service initiatives.
