Canada Hosts the Godfather of All Poker Tournaments

This year Canada begins to prepare itself for the largest poker tournament in its illustrious gambling history
Canada can indeed brace itself. Through May 19-20, 2012, Quebec will host the Loto-Quebec Poker Tournament; dubbed as Canada’s largest ever poker competition.
The two-day event, will be held at the Casino du Lac-Leamy in Quebec, and people are excited, already.
According to Canada gambling news, the winner of the Loto-Quebec tournament will receive a seat at the World Series of Poker Main Event, to be held in Las Vegas later this summer. The WSOP tournament buy-in is worth $25,000.
For those who want to join the poker stars involved in the tournament, but lack the necessary buy-in funds to do so, an alternative route has been provided. $5 scratch tickets go on sale from the 2nd of February, with a victorious ticket, earning the lucky owner a shot at the big tournament.
There are also smaller buy-in poker qualifiers being hosted at a multitude of online poker sites in Canada.
The Casino du Lac-Leamy, the host to the magnificent event operates in full compliance with Canadian gambling laws and is a government run casino, providing its owners with over $30 million in annual profits. With several bars, a Hilton hotel, restaurants and close to 2,000 slot machines, the Casino du Lac-Leamy isn’t a stranger to world of high stakes gambling.
Millions of gamblers have come through its doors since the casino originally opened in 1996, and many more are expected to be in the midst, when the poker fever hits Canada in late spring.
