Cake Gaming Internet Poker Coming to American Casinos

With every day that passes, seemingly another U.S.-based casino interest lays the groundwork for liberalization of American gambling laws.

With every day that passes, seemingly another U.S.-based casino interest lays the groundwork for liberalization of American gambling laws. Today it’s the Atlantis Internet Group, which announced the signing of a licensing agreement with online poker provider Cake Gaming.

Under terms of the contract, Cake Gaming would establish online poker sites in the United States – even though current American gambling laws still deem such websites as essentially illegal – by making them playable only within tribal casinos.

Atlantis Internet Group CEO Donald L. Bailey stated upon the signing that the Tribal Gaming Network, a union of Native American-owned land-based casinos, would “offer an immediate and legal solution” to provide internet poker in Indian casinos. “This is a significant milestone for [Atlantis] and Cake,” said Bailey, “and will become an immediate economic shot in the arm for tribes and states facing deficits.”

The Tribal Gaming Network would be able to deploy the WAP-based technology across casino in 30 states in the U.S.

With at least one state – California – seriously considering an intrastate poker network to ease its own economic woes, Cake Poker may have made quite a salient business move in establishing a presence as a place to play online poker in the USA.
