Let’s see the Brazil Olympic football squad!

Goalkeepers

Rogério Micale, the coach of Brazil U23 has invited 2 goalkeepers into the Brazil Olympic football squad: Uilson is a 22-year-old goalkeeper from Atletico Mineiro’s youth team, while the other one is one of the veterans of the Brazil Olympic squad, and his name is Fernando Prass. He is a 37-year-old goalie of Palmeiras, the coach believes in his experience.

Defenders

The biggest name among the defenders of the Brazil Olympic football squad is definitely Marquinhos. He is 22-years old and plays for PSG. He is very well known all around Europe, a great future is ahead of him. Thiago Silva got left out surprisingly. His mate in the defensive line will be 23-year-old Luan from Vasco. Three more defenders are invited in the Brazil Olympic football squad and they are all full backs. Douglas Santos, 22-year-old left back of Atletico Mineiro will most probably be the starter on the left side, while 22 years old Zeca shall be on the other side. The latter one plays for Santos youth team. A bit of a surprise in the Olympic football squad of Brazil is that 21-year-old William received an invitation from the coach.

Midfielders

On the midfield of the Brazilian national football team, the names that can ring a bell should be the 23-year-old Rafinha from Barcelona and the also 23-year-old Felipe Anderson from Lazio. Sao Paulo’s Rogeiro Caio and Internacional’s Rodrigo Dourado also form part of the Brazil Olympic football squad.

However, the most important name that we better keep in mind is Thiago Maia. He is only 18 years old. Online sportsbooks expect him to steal the show from his teammates as the talented midfielder could be one of the best talents discovered in Rio 2016. Maia plays for Santos and he is the youngest member of the Brazil Olympic football squad.

Attackers

It does not come as a surprise that Brazil’s biggest star, Neymar Jr was named in the Brazil national football team as a veteran. He will seek to lead his country to success together with Bayern Münich star Douglas Costa, who just finished a terrific season at the German side and was one of the best players among Pep’s men.

Gabigol

Apart from the 2 world class stars, the Brazil Olympic football squad consists of 19-year-old Gabigol. His name says it all, he’s a great talent and might make a move to Europe this summer. Currently he is at Santos cantera. 19-year-old Gabriel Jesus and 23-year-old Luan are also part of the team, they came from Palmeiras and Grémio respectively.

Sportbooks predict Brazil to win Olympic football

Online sportsbooks in Brazil believe that the Brazil Olympic football squad is strong enough to win the tournament. It would be an incredible success to the national football team as they have had way too many negative experience in this sport in recent years. The Selecao just made an incredibly quick exit from the Copa América, having been knocked out in the group stage, which cost Dunga his helm at the team.

Famous online sportsbooks, such as Bet365, regard the Brazil Olympic football team as clear favourites to win the title. The odds for their victory is (15/8) at the UK-based online bookie, while those for Argentina’s and Germany’s triumph are 4.00 (3/1) and 8.00 (7/1) respectively.
