The Solaire hotel in Manila will get an extra 300 rooms and the resort’s casino will have more slot machines and tables.
Bloomberry Resorts Corporation is not giving up its plans to expand the Solaire Manila casino. Company representatives announced they have succeeded in raising another P11.425 billion (about $250 million) for the project.
“The proceeds of the corporate notes facility is intended to partially finance the construction of Phase 1-A expansion of the hotel and entertainment building complex of Solaire Resort and Casino,” a company statement said.
More hotel suites, shops and restaurants
Plans include 300 additional suites in the hotel tower, a retail area, more space for restaurants, a 1,800-seat theatre and a night club. According to international gambling news, the casino will also be equipped with an extra 200 slot machines and 65 gaming tables.
The Solaire is the first casino resort to open in Manila’s Entertainment City, a project encouraged by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation. The venue was inaugurated last March and now the company’s inventory includes 500 hotel suites and a casino with 300 gaming tables and 1,000 slot machines. The current phase of the expansion project should be completed by the third quarter of 2014.
The Filipino gambling law authority handed out four casino licenses to major developers and a few more gambling venues are expected to open in the upcoming years.
