Betsson Horse Racing Offers Strengthened by RaceBets Acquisition

Btesson’s horse racing offers will be improved by the expertise of RaceBets, after acquiring the company for $38,6 million.

According to UK gambling news, Betsson acquired RaceBets, a niche operator, for $38,6 million. RaceBets’ horse race betting product will be added to Betsson’s portfolio in order to complement its existing services in the field. RaceBets is licensed in some of the biggest online betting markets in Europe, including the UK, Malta, and Germany. The niche operator is considered to be one of the best in its field, which will serve Betsson well, as the European horse race betting market has an estimated worth of €3,5 billion.

“The key rationale of the acquisition of RaceBets is to enable our subsidiaries to accelerate the launch of a world class horse racing product on all core brands,” commented Ulrik Bengtsson, CEO & President of Betsson. The acquisition is expected to be closed by the beginning of 2017. Established in 2005, RaceBets became the leading horse race betting service on the German market.
