Bet against Spain if you want to make some good money: the odds are pretty good against them and with an urgent reserve manager, their chances are pretty bad…
The Spanish Football Federation announced one day before the World Cup that their manager is sacked, so you probably want to bet against Spain!
Long story short: yes, you probably should. Online sportsbook news sites in Spain can’t stop reporting about the horrible Mediterranean soap opera they have gotten themselves into. As we wrote yesterday, Spain national coach Julen Lopetegui joined Real Madrid, however, he wanted to stay with Spain until the end of the World Cup.
RFEF President Luis Rubiales was of a different opinion, however. He called for a press conference today and as sources from the Spanish media reported, his reason was to announce the sacking of Julen Lopetegui. Ramos and Iniesta, team captains of Spain, asked the president to rethink his ideas, but he couldn’t not behave like a butthurt child from kindergarten, whose toy just got taken.
Spain manager is sacked as of today
While it seems impossibly amateur, it is a fact: The Spanish Football Federation decided the best they can do is to sack their current manager. The man who prepared a complete team for 2 years for this tournament is sacked, just the day before the tournament starts. Good luck trying to replace him with an actual candidate!
Julen Lopetegui’s seat will be filled by sports director Fernando Hierro, who has no managerial experience whatsoever. He used to be assistant to Carlo Ancelotti in 2015 at real Madrid, the year the Italian was sacked. Now Hierro will manage Spain at the most important football tournament there is.
Bet against Spain at the World Cup!
Hierro will play his very first game as Spain manager as early as this Friday. They will play one of the most expected derbies of the group stages as Spain will play against Portugal. Online sportsbook sites in Spain used to believe that the Furia Roja were favourites to win, but now you might want to rethink that.
Currently, the best odds for Spain to beat Portugal are to be found at Unibet Sportsbook. They offer 2.12 odds for Spain to win against Portugal. The odds for Portugal to win against Spain are 4.95 at Marathonbet Sportsbook. you might want to bet against Spain if you can find such odds…
Bet on new Spain manager!
It’s official that Fernando Hierro will replace Julen Lopetegui during the World Cup in Russia. However, the Spanish FA will obviously try to find a long-term replacement for the new Real Madrid manager. Sites in the online sportsbook directory are already coming up with possible names…
They keep talking about successful Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who’s currently out of job as he just resigned from his position. Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger is another possibility as well as former Barca manager Luis Enrique. Who do you think will be the next permanent manager of Spain?
