New Mobile Approach for Aristocrat Leisure
Major Australian gaming machine company, Aristocrat Leisure, is about to move its attention towards mobile casinos. The company’s change in focus comes at a time when social gambling, as well as mobile casinos, is really taking across throughout the world. This new direction could provide the company with an advantage over some of its competitors.
This move isn’t much of a shock, as the company bought US based Product Madness last year. That company focused its attention on producing Facebook slot games. It’s the popularity of these social slots that has caused some rethinking in the world of traditional gambling, and with the law changes in the US, online and mobile are seen as the pillars of a new gambling world.
Of course, Australian gambling laws are pretty prohibitive when it comes to online gambling. Despite this, there has been no move to block foreign based online casinos from reaching out to Australian customers.
Aristocrat Leisure Chief Executive, Jamie Odell, spoke about the changes, saying that: “Intuitively, that’s where my heart says we should be moving to: to the future.” Additionally, he added that the company’s focus may well be on foreign markets.
Mr. Odell also remarked on how casino gambling would remain big business, with the social side of visiting a casino high on the agenda. As worldwide gambling news reports online operators such as Party Poker and Paddy Power creating social gambling portals online, this assertion is different to the general mood, but it remains to be seen which is closer to the truth.
With casinos offering gamers the latest technological advances, including high definition slot machines with surround sound, this immersive experience is key to attracting new punters to land based casinos instead of the social gambling portals on Facebook. Whichever direction is the answer, it’s sure that we’re entering a period of rapid change for the gambling industry.
