American Poker Player Haixa Zhang Wins First WSOP Ladies Gold Bracelet

The 2014 World Series of Poker ladies no-limit Hold’em event brought together 793 players and created a prize pool of $713,700.
Haixia Zhang from Los Gatos, California, made it into the gambling news, after winning the 3-day tournament and earning her first gold bracelet and bringing home the first place prize of $153,470.
Zhang commented: “I’m in complete awe,” said “It’s unreal. I’m just glad to be here, let alone win it. Everybody that made the last few tables, I totally respected their play. I thought they all played really solid.”

Other participants who made it to the final table were two women who have solid experience US poker rooms, namely Elizabeth Montizanti who finished 4th and Pat Landis who was 5th and is also Daniel Negreanu’s personal assistant.
Additional famous female players like Xuan Liu (11th place), Melanie Weisner (26th place), Dee Dozier (74th) and Christina Lindley (80th place) stayed much further behind the final table winners.
