If you wish to step up your gambling career, start in the US. Our list is here to help you choose from the best cities.
All this hype around elegant European casinos got us thinking: which are the best places within the United States (apart from Las Vegas and Atlantic City) to visit if someone wants the ultimate casino experience? It wasn’t easy, but we chose six of our favourite places where we would go any day, every day. Choose one, or visit all of them, you will surely have a splendid time!
Gulf Coast, Mississippi
• Best gambling metropolis of all time
• Beautiful scenery and waterfront
• Sports and leisure to recharge your batteries
Definitely worth the travel. First-class casinos in Biloxi, a well-known area and resorts all around offer unique deals and promotions to everyone willing to take a chance. Rising from its ashes after Hurricane Katrina, the area really has bounced back and boasts of a rise in revenue (which, according to gambling news, is around USD 1.2 billion.) The coast adds to the wonderful atmosphere and makes it a destination full of variety. Biloxi is not the only place to go, however: try Bay St. Louis and Gulfport, too. Waterfront casinos await your arrival!
Connecticut
New casinos in this area are constantly built to generate revenue. It is a Hub for people in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island who wish to place their bets at various gaming tables. The biggest casino of them all, Foxwoods Resort Casino, comprises six gambling establishments with a total of 7,000 gaming machines and over 800 hotel rooms according to Bloomberg Business. There are a hundred tables just for playing poker! One of the world’s biggest bingo halls can also be found here. If, however, you are expecting to play at a place which is more toned-down, you will surely find what you’re looking for, too.
Chicago, Illinois
Sometimes, Internet casinos don’t stand a chance with places like Chicago. Its popularity has gone up by astronomical numbers and is among the number one destinations to visit when one is looking for a place to gamble. Chicago boasts of some of the best US poker rooms that ever existed. The Chicago Tribune recently reported that based on the success of other gambling entities, tourism officials are fighting to expand gambling to bring in more revenue. It is a city full of life, colour and people rushing here and there. You will never get bored once you enter the city.
Detroit, Michigan
Recently, the profit brought in by Detroit casinos has skyrocketed. The most popular casino in Detroit, MGM Grand, has had a 10% increase in revenue. Although most tourists say that the city itself is too urban, we love the busy vibe it gives off. And, judging from the numbers, it seems like we are not the only ones. Greektown and MotorCity, are also casino resorts that visitors absolutely love. Each hotel has many awesome restaurants to try out, so make sure you have something to eat before you go place your bets. You won’t be disappointed.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Try out some of Philly’s best casinos, like Harrah’s, SugarHouse and Parx’s. When, however, you get bored of staying indoors, go outside to the racetracks and bet on those Arabians and Thoroughbreds. Horseracing accounts for most of the Philly gambling revenue, and no wonder: people love the crowd and staying outdoors. Better than being cooped up in your hotel room and placing bets on mobile betting sites, isn’t it?
The Poconos, Pennsylvania
If you truly want to get away from the metropolis, go into the mountains. Breathtaking landscapes await you with vast opportunities to reload your batteries. Go camping or skiing, or just relax in some of the state’s best resorts. If you want to gamble, do it in some of the nicest, most characteristic and unique casinos you have ever been to. Mount Airy Casino Resort and Mohegan Sun are very popular with visitors. This place really is something else. For nature lovers, it is the ultimate gambling Mecca.
