$475,000 Louisiana Lotto Jackpot Won by Avondale Woman

A 63 year old woman from Avondale is the lucky winner of a $475,000 Louisiana Lotto jackpot.

In US gambling news, Avondale resident Cecilia Randel has been announced as the holder of the sole winning ticket of the $475,000 Louisiana Lotto jackpot. She’d purchased the ticket a few blocks from her home at RaceTrac #645 on Highway 90 in Avondale, Louisiana.

Randel is a frequent lotto player but never before big winner. She claimed the Louisiana Lotto jackpot prize on November 17 at lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge. Louisiana Lottery Corp. officials announced the win two days later in a press release.

Simply for being the store that had sold Randel the winning ticket, RaceTrac #645 will receive 1% of the jackpot prize, which is $4,750.

Randel, meanwhile, will be awarded $332,500 of the $475,000 Louisiana Lotto jackpot. This is due to US gambling laws which dictate that federal and state taxes must be withheld on lottery wins.
