The new NASCAR season starts in two weeks’ time, with the preliminary races of the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum. While the first points race of the season will be the 2022 Daytona 500 on the 20th of February. It’s time to check the top favorites to win the title this season. With last year’s winner, Kyle Larson leading the 2022 NASCAR championship odds.

This will be the 74th season of the most popular American stock car racing series, the NASCAR Cup Series. The first point race of the season will be the Daytona 500 on the 20th of February but two qualifying races will be also held ahead of it. The last race of the regular season is on the 27th of August. While the championship race will be held on the 6th of November at Phoenix Raceway. Kyle Larson is the defending champion and the main favorite to win again after his impressive performance last season. But he is likely to face tough rivalry from other drivers. Like 2020 champion Chase Elliott, Kyle Busch, and 2010 runner-up Denny Hamlin. All drivers will race with new, NextGen cars though which could easily turn up the usual order of the three big teams.

2022 NASCAR championship odds mention recent winners as top favorites

Kyle Larson produced a stunning season last year on his return from a lengthy suspension. He won 10 races and had the most top-five and top-10 finishes. Along with the most stage wins and laps led. Larson was the best driver all season. And he also dominated the playoff with five wins. The Hendrick Motorsports driver’s best result had been a 6th-place finish in 2019 before winning the title.  But after his brilliant performance, online sportsbooks in the US offer the smallest odds, +350.00 for his victory again.

One of his main rivals can be the 2020 champion, Chase Elliott, who finished fourth last season. Larson’s teammate at Hendrick Motorsports also reached the last round in 2021. But he only finished fifth in Phoenix. Elliott had a mixed season with two race wins along with 15 top-five finishes. Now the most popular driver of the field has the odds of +550.00 in the 2022 NASCAR championship odds to win the title. Denny Hamlin follows them closely with the odds of +650.00 to finally win his first championship title. The 41-year-old Joe Gibbs Racing driver reached the playoff last year in spite of not winning any races in the regular season. Hamlin managed to get to the last round but he only finished third at the end.

Byron, Busch, and Martin Truex Jr. can also fight for the title

One of the youngest talents of the series is William Byron who finished 10th in the overall standings last season. He got one win at the beginning of the season and 11 top-five finishes later on. Byron also reached the playoff but he was eliminated after the round of 12.  The 2017 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion also drives for Hendrick Motorsports and will aim for an even better result now. With the odds of +800.00 to finish on top.

Online gambling sites in the US also mention two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch in the favorites with the odds of +1000.00. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver only finished 9th last season after some unlucky crashes and technical issues. But Busch certainly knows how to win which he proved in the Xfinity Series. Where he won all five races he competed and got his 100th win at Nashville. The same odds are offered for another experienced driver, Martin Truex Jr. who also races for Joe Gibbs Racing. The 2017 champion was close to winning his second title last year but he finished as a runner-up at the end. Now both of them can try again to win the series along with their younger rivals.
