It’s less than a week now until the start of this year’s second Grand Slam, the 2022 Roland Garros. The qualification has already started but the main draw takes place between 23 May – 5 June in the French capital. The 2022 French Open betting predictions mention Djokovic, Alcaraz, and Nadal as the top favorites. Let’s see their odds below.
The 2022 French Open starts next week with all top men’s tennis players taking part in it. Except for former world No1 Roger Federer who is still suffering from a knee injury. But his main rivals, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will compete along with the young generation, Carlos Alcaraz, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Daniil Medvedev. Djokovic is the defending champion after beating Tsitsipas in last year’s final in five sets. But of course, Nadal is the most successful player in the tournament’s history with 13 victories. The Spanish star was also struggling with some injuries but returned to playing in the last few weeks. He is still not 100% but will try to win his 14th Roland Garros title now. While his compatriot, 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz is with a chance of winning his first Grand Slam title after his brilliant form this season.
2022 French Open Betting Predictions Slightly Favor Djokovic
The world No1 had a tough start to the year after his misery in Australia. Since then he slowly started to play again and got into form. Djokovic was the runner-up on home soil in the Serbia Open and reached the semi-final in Madrid. Before finally winning his first tournament of the season, the 2022 Italian Open in Rome. The Serbian defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final just like he did in last year’s French Open final. It was only his second victory in Paris, making clay one of his weaker surfaces. Still, online sportsbooks in France offer the smallest odds, 2.536 for his win.
But the 2022 French Open betting predictions offer very similar odds, 2.55 for the win of the rising star, Carlos Alcaraz. The 19-year-old player got his first ATP Masters 1000 victory this year at the 2022 Miami Open. And soon he doubled it with his win in Madrid. Very impressive results from the young Spanish player who also won in Rio and Barcelona this season. Alcaraz only got to the third round in Paris last year, but he is likely to go much further now. While his compatriot, 21-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal can get his second win of the season after his record-meaning victory at the 2022 Australian Open. But his condition might affect his result. Just like it did in Madrid where he was knocked out in the quarter-finals by Alcaraz. Nadal can’t be missed from the top favorites though and has the odds of 2.86 on 22Bet.
Chances of Tsitsipas, Zverev, and Medvedev
Stefanos Tsitsipas was the runner-up in last year’s final after losing against Djokovic. The Greek world No4 also reached the semi-final at this year’s Australian Open. He had a short fallback in the next few months but came back with his second ATP Maters 1000 tournament victory in Monte-Carlo. Tsitsipas is very strong on clay, but he did lose against Djokovic and Alcaraz in recent weeks. His odds to beat them and win his first Grand Slam title are 6.25. Much higher odds are offered for the victory of Alexander Zverev who is also chasing his first GS-trophy.
The German world No3 got to the semi-final at the 2021 French Open which was his best result at the tournament. Zverev is also strong on clay though after reaching the final in Madrid and the semi-final in Rome this season. His odds to win in Paris are 14.50. Online gambling sites in France offer similar odds for the victory of Daniil Medvedev. The world No2 was close to winning his second Grand Slam in Melbourne but lost the final against Nadal. He still managed to take the world No1 spot from Djokovic in February but only for a short time. The Russian has been recovering from a hernia surgery recently, and clay is not his strongest surface. But he won’t be able to compete in Wimbledon which might motivate him to a strong performance in Paris.
