The 2021/22 Europa League season continues next weekend with the first leg of the quarter-finals. Following the knockout of Sevilla, Barcelona remained the only Spanish team and the top favorite of the tournament. They will visit the home of Eintracht Frankfurt next Thursday, with the 2022 Europa League quarter-finals odds expecting Xavi’s side to win. Let’s see the odds for this and the other three games below.
Only eight teams are left in this season’s Europa League. They will continue their road to the final with the first leg of the quarter-finals next week. Probably the biggest surprise of the previous round was West Ham United’s win against the most successful team of the tournament, Sevilla. But for English fans probably it wasn’t such big news after their team’s brilliant performance this season. Now David Moyes’ side will meet Lyon, who knocked out Porto in the last 16. RB Leipzig will meet Atalanta who proved to be stronger than Bayer Leverkusen. While the other German team, Eintracht Frankfurt will have a tough job against top-form Barcelona. The last tie between Braga and Rangers seems like the most balanced one, with similar chances for both teams to win.
2022 Europa League quarterfinals odds favor Barca and Leipzig
FC Barcelona have improved a lot since former club legend Xavi took over the team last November. The latest proof of their great form was a superb 4-0 win against Real Madrid in this year’s first El Clasico. Barca also got through to the quarter-finals in the Europa League against Galatasaray with a 2-1 victory in Istanbul. Though their play is not perfect yet, the team has shown much better performance in the last few months. The arrival of new players like Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang and Ferran Torres made them more dangerous in front of the goal. So their next opponent, Eintracht Frankfurt needs to concentrate on their defense in order to have a chance against the Catalans.
The German club knocked out another Spanish team, Real Betis with a goal scored in the 121st minute. Now online sportsbooks in Germany offer the odds of 4.46 for their win while Barca have the odds of 1.715 for the victory in the first leg. The other German club, RB Leipzig’s chances are much better against Atalanta. Though surely it won’t be an easy game against Gian Piero Gasperini’s side who knocked out Leverkusen in the previous round. But Leipzig have been in great form too under the leadership of the new manager, Domenico Tedesco. They are on a nine-game unbeaten run and moved to fourth place in the Bundesliga. Mostly thanks to the French midfielder, Christopher Nkunku who has already scored 30 goals this season. Their odds to beat Atalanta at home are 1.968 in the 2022 Europa League quarter-finals odds.
West Ham and Braga can get the win at home
West Ham United also needed an extra-time goal to ensure their win against Sevilla in the previous round. But they did it and will meet struggling French side Olympique Lyon next. The English club has had a great season so far in spite of some recent defeats. They are still in 7th place in the Premier League, only two points away from the European Conference League place. And in a good mood after their brilliant victory over the tournament’s most successful club. Meanwhile Lyon edged out a regular Champions League team, FC Porto with 2-1 on aggregate. Peter Bosz’s team is only in 10th place in Ligue 1, but played great football in the Europa League. Their odds to surprise West Ham at the London Stadium are 3.74. While the odds for the home win are 1.965.
Online gambling sites in Germany offer similar odds for both teams’ success in the last quarter-final between Braga and Rangers. The Portuguese club passed through the more experienced French club, AS Monaco with 3-1 on aggregate. Carlos Carvalhal’s team has young but very talented players who can be a tough opponent for Rangers. The Scottish club won the two teams’ last meeting in the 2019/20 season and will try to get the same result. Following the leave of Steven Gerrard last winter, the team is managed by Giovanni van Bronckhorst. And perform well as Rangers knocked out Borussia Dortmund and Red Star Belgrade in the previous rounds. They beat the German club away on their first game, their odds to do same against Braga are 2.784 on 22Bet.
