Following our review of the top favorites in the lead actor and best series categories, let’s see the favorites in the lead actress categories. We can find nominees from the biggest series like Ozark, Euphoria, and Killing Eve in the drama category. Where Olivia Colman won the award last season for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix hit The Crown.

Well, with no new seasons at the moment about the British Royal Family, she is not in the nominees this year. Unlike the other two former winners, Zendaya and Jodie Comer. In the comedy category, last year’s winner, Jean Smart is the top favorite again but we might see a new winner this time.

2022 Emmy Awards Lead Actress Odds Expect Jean Smart to Win Again

Jean Smart plays in HBO Max comedy-drama Hacks, which is about a young comedy writer and a legendary stand-up comedienne. Smart is in the role of the latter, performing brilliantly in the series which has already won her an Emmy Award. And also the Best Actress Golden Globe – Television Series Musical or Comedy.

The 70-year-old American actress has also won the Emmy for her previous roles in Frasier and Samantha Who? but they were wins in other categories. Online sportsbooks in New Zealand offer the smallest odds, 1.25 for her second lead actress victory.

Another top candidate for the award is Quinta Bronson for her role as a teacher in the mockumentary sitcom series Abbott Elementary. Bronson is also the executive producer and writer of the series. And she has been nominated in the writer and producer categories too. But her win is most likely here (4.50) according to the 2022 Emmy Awards Lead Actress odds.

Rachel Brosnahan is the 2018 winner of the category who received her fourth nomination this year. All for her role in the Amazon Prime series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel set in the later 1950s. She plays a typical housewife who discovers her skills and starts a career in stand-up comedy. A familiar theme but it might win her the Emmy again. Her odds to do so are 7.50.

Zendaya Leads the Drama Category

One of the most popular young actresses at the moment is Zendaya who became famous following her role in the HBO MAX series Euphoria. Her performance as Rue Bennett, a recovering drug addict was highly praised by critics and fans. And earned her an Emmy in 2020.

The series returned this year with the second season with more drama and more Zendaya. Making her the top favorite of the lead actress in a drama series category with the odds of 1.40. One of her main rivals can be New Zealand actress Melanie Lynskey according to online gambling sites in New Zealand.

She stars in Showtime’s drama series, Yellowjackets which follows the lives of four teenagers who survived a plane crash. Lynskey plays the adult version of one of them in this thrilling series that has been nominated for seven Emmy Awards. Lynskey has already won the Critics’ Choice Award for her performance.

Now her odds to win the Emmy are 4.00. Similar odds, 4.50 are offered on 22Bet for the victory of Laura Linney for her role in Ozark. The popular Netflix crime drama has received 32 Emmy nominations so far, including three for Linney. The American actress has already won four Emmy and 2 Golden Globe awards for her other appearances. But her performance in the last season of Ozark can easily win her another award.
