The fastest 20 drivers in the world are all set to race at the Bahrain International Circuit on the weekend. The fans will not only be watching how the first battle will come about, but some will also test their predictions with real money. If you are one of them then here is all you need to know about 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix odds.

Just a sidebar, if you missed out the entire 2021 season, you may catch up by watching Drive to Survive Season 4 on Netflix. Also, in this piece we will talk about the pre-season testing. It gave us a glance at which new cars are the best from the engineering standpoint. We will move to the top four favorites to win in Bahrain, before exploring some exciting bets to consider other than the outright winner.

Overview on the Pre-Season Testing

F1 teams had two pre-season testing sessions, one in Barcelona and the other in Bahrain. What we learned from both sessions is that Ferrari has a very solid car. There are no glitches or any significant reliability issues. It was a great surprise but also a strong sign that all the force is with Ferrari in the first few races this season.

Red Bull was less talked about. However, they also have a very good car and Max Verstappen finished as the fastest driver in Bahrain. Whereas, Mercedes catched the news with their revolutionary sidepods. But, in terms of pace they still have much work to do. They also faced a lot of porpoising until the last day of the testing. Thus, it is a little bit difficult to see Merc car show strength in the first Grand Prix. Okay, let us walk you through the top four favorites starting with Max.

Max Still has a Lot to Prove in Bahrain

The reigning champion is certainly on top of the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix odds with a 2.87 value according to Bet365 Sportsbook. He still has the momentum from his exciting wins last year. Not to mention that he is still aggressive and will unlikely not back down to anyone, not only Hamilton. The Bahrain Grand Prix will give Max a chance to prove that he is the driver no. 1. Last year he only managed to finish second. He will also seek to bring more confidence to his team by picking up where he left off last year. That is crucial after all the controversy that rocked the F1 sport in Abu Dhabi. So, if you are wondering who is the favorite? Yes, Max is the one to likely win.

Leclerc favored by Hamilton

If you followed the pre-season testing commentary, you must have heard Lewis Hamilton predicting Ferrari to be the fastest in Bahrain, according to GP Fans.

If you wish to go with Hamilton’s prediction, you may pick Leclerc with 6.00 odds. After all, he showed very consistent time laps in testing. He is also the no. 1 driver of Ferrari even though the principal Mattia Binotto refuses to acknowledge it.

Hamilton is the Underdog

Yes, the online sportsbook news in Bahrain are less enthusiastic about Lewis Hamilton as they were in the past seven years. It is unfortunate but it is the reality. No doubt that Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, won five times in Bahrain. If he wins this weekend it will be his fourth straight victory. But Merc car is simply not promising. So, despite that the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix odds value Hamilton at 3.50, it is hard to see how he may win.

Sainz may be the Dark Horse

All analysts at online sportsbooks in Bahrain agree that whenever new rules are introduced, the pack closes up. This time around the rules may benefit Carlos Sianz. He has a long experience in F1 and it seems that he found his home in Ferrari. Last year, Sianz was able to beat his teammate Leclerc in the 2021 Driver Standings by claiming fifth place. So, if you wish to spice things up, pick Sainz at 8.50.

Other Exciting Bets

Other than picking the race outright winner, you may check out other exciting 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix odds. For example, you may place a bet on who will secure the pole position in the qualifying on Saturday. You may also bet on who will get the fastest lap, with Max the favorite at 2.25. But you may go with Leclerc (11.00) if he fails to win the race. You can also bet on who will finish on the podium and our prediction is Max first, Leclerc second, and Hamilton third. Of course you may predict differently.
