Following the winter break and the official testing in Qatar, the Moto3 World Championship is about to start. Although it is still early to predict the potential outright winner, the 2021 Moto3 betting odds have listed the favorites and the underdogs. Among the early firm favorites, Jaume Masia and John McPhee are in the mix.
The 2021 Moto3 World Championship is starting with the first grand prix in Qatar on 28 March. There are 19 GPs to be raced as per online sportsbook news in Qatar. By the end of these races, we will have the chance to see the outright winner sometime in November.
However, the bookies are already starting to offer the best 2021 Moto3 betting odds on who will likely be this year’s champion. It is still too soon to predict that the list of favorites at the odds will be the actual title contenders. But, their resume and performance in the official testing are impressive. So, perhaps they will be up to the task. Here are the four favorites according to the bookies.
Jaume Masia finished with the fastest ride in testing
The Red Bull KTM Ajo rider since 2017 is starting his 2021 campaign with the fastest ride in the official testing in Qatar. He did not just top the timesheets, but he also made a record of the quickest lap time at the Losail International Circuit. The Spaniard Jaume Masia was not one of the riders to beat in recent years. However, he is becoming more and more competitive.
Looking at his achievements since 2017 Masia has been climbing through the ranks. Last year he perfectly secured sixth place on the standings. At the 2021 Moto3 betting odds, Masia is the big favorite with a 3.40 value, according to Bet365 Sportsbook. Will he meet the expectations? It is hard to say, but most likely he will be in the upper part of the standings.
Darryn Binder is a highly determined racer
The Petronas Sprinta Racing new signing Darryn Binder is a strong racer and one of the great contenders of the last year. He joined Personas from the Red Bull where he finished eighth overall in 2020. Binder, a 23-year-old, seems highly determined to put on a show for his new squad. Thus, he will likely focus on competing for the title with 5.50 odds.
Dennis Foggia, 20, finished third in testing
The Italian rider Dennis Foggia with LeOpard Racing has finished third in the official testing. Although he is just 20 years old, Foggia is a fast and strong racer to be feared by all the top contenders. Last year alone, Foggia was able to reach the podium three times, of which he won one race. As online sportsbooks in Qatar show, Foggia is the third favorite with 6.00 odds.
John McPhee needs a title win before moving up
Darryn Binder’s teammate at Petronas Sprinta Racing is another huge contender. He is a strong Scottish racer, John McPhee, who hoped to capture the title last year but failed. In 2020, McPhee finished seventh and had to settle for another Moto3 competition, before moving up to Moto2.
McPhee is 27 years old and racing for the ninth full season. He is extremely experienced. Thus, if he is at his best throughout the season he can win the championship with a 7.00 value, according to the 2021 Moto3 betting odds.
