$1 Million Emerald Belt to Be Worn by Winner of The Mayweather Pacquiao Match

In anticipation of the super fight on May 2nd, 2015 between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, boxing fans got the rare opportunity to choose which belt the winner of the match will wear. Well known in US gambling news, this fight has been in the planning for years and it’s a gracious gift by the World Boxing Council to their fans for having the patience and the love for the sport.
Boxing fans chose an emerald green, diamond-encrusted best for this victor of this highly awaited bout. The best will be most likely to be worth upwards of $1 million. It’s a suitable price for a $300 million match-up that is already being called the fight of the century. In the voting, the traditional design of the green belt was favored to the onyx belt of “non-specific” design by 6%.
The Championship Belt is No Ordinary Green Belt
The WBC made a statement about the championship belt. “This exquisite masterpiece is especially designed by the World Boxing Council, for a unique bout that is already gracing the pages of boxing history.” The belt has images of Mauricio Sulaiman, former WBC president, Mayweather, Pacquiao and Muhammed Ali along it. Many boxing professionals, historians and enthusiasts consider Ali the greatest boxer of all time.
“In order to appropriately recognize the winner of this titanic and epic event of May 2, emeralds have triumphed.” The WBC also felt the need to show their gratitude to their fans. The World Boxing Council is very grateful to the multitude of fans that participated in this process, voting on our web page, to choose the historic belt Mayweather or Pacquiao will proudly possess.” According to US gambling news, the belt is a worthwhile addition to Pacquiao’s $120 million or Mayweather’s $180 million.
