Gambling Laws in DR Congo
Various laws make
gambling in DR Congo legal in much of its variety. Within the
Congolese gambling legislation, the main regulatory acts are the
Inter-ministerial orders 041/MJS/CAB/2100/01/2011 and the ordinance
No. 059/CAB/MIN/FINANCES/2005 from the 25th June 2005. All these acts make various forms of gambling in DR Congo legal, but do not include within this scope online gambling. Online gambling in the country is until today not regulated.
The regulatory body of the land-based activities is an office within the Ministry of Economy of DR Congo. Beside its function as supervisor, this office is the official body which grants licenses to all Congolese casinos, sportsbooks, or other types of gambling providers, brick and mortar as well as online.
According to
Congolese gambling laws minors, under 18 years of age are prohibited to participate in gambling activities.
