Operators can now apply for a non-remote license or make amendments to an existing non-remote license online.

The UK Gambling Commission has announced new amendments to the current British gambling laws and now all remote casino operators are required to reapply for new licenses.

The regulatory body introduced the online application service earlier this year, in February, to make things easier for remote applicants. But now the UK Gambling Commission has announced that non-remote operators can use the online service too.

The new platform allows all users to navigate through the application and “reflects their business model and individual circumstances”. Applicants can also skip questions that are not applicable to them and this will save them some valuable time.

No more delays

Applicants can also use the online service to upload various documents and update all the information required by the regulatory body. Anyone who wants to apply for a license to operate an online gambling site in the UK can just enter the website and upload the required papers, such as certified copies of identity documents and banks statements.

Members of the Gambling Commission say this will help avoid delivery delays and other problems, such as losing original documents in the mail. Of course, companies still have the possibility of using the traditional methods of applying for a license.

Licensing manager Dawn Best said: “This further development of online services for non-remote operators builds on the introduction of the online application service for remote operators in February. This is a further step along the way to providing a complete set of eServices for all applicants and licensees.”
