Card Player Poker Tour Coming to the US and Caribbean

Season II of the Card Player Poker Tournament has already completed six stops; now the event is moving to Oklahoma.

While politicians are trying to figure out whether to change the current American gambling laws and ban online casino games, gambling companies are trying to make sure that US players have other options when it comes to playing poker. The Card Player Poker Tournament (CPPT) is one them.

The latest event hosted at Bestbet Jacksonville in Florida ended on May 12th, with 23-year old poker pro Sean Winter taking the title. The young player managed to beat 218 players and won the top prize of $84,000 as a reward for his performance, as well as the title of CPPT champion.

After six stops in several poker rooms across the country, the tournament is now headed for Oklahoma, later in July. Poker players are invited to join the next competition at Choctaw Resort Casino in Durant. Keep reading to find out more about the upcoming events.

The Choctaw Casino Resort will be the seventh stop on Season II. The venue is located in Durant, Oklahoma and has over 4,000 gambling machines, table games and a poker room with 30 tables, private staff and special services.

Running from July 17 until August 3, the event includes an impressive 81 tournaments. But that’s not the only reason why many players will want to be there; there’s also a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.

The Oklahoma series will begin with a no-limit hold’em game offering a $50,000 guaranteed prize. There is a $300 buy-in for this event. But the following day will feature an even better one, a $100 buy-in no-limit hold’em race offering double the money. The guaranteed reward for this event will be $100,000.

However, the big attraction of the series will be the main event, a $1,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em tour. This one will bring a juicy $500,000 prize for the best player, marking one of the most substantial paydays of Season II.

Last August, the Choctaw Resort Casino hosted the last event of Season I. The series included 54 tournaments. Mohammad Arani won the main event and pocketed more than $220,000 in cash. The player also received 912 Card Player Player of the Year points.

A quick stop in the Caribbean

While the Oklahoma series sounds very promising, one of the most exciting stops in this year’s CPPT will be the Allure of the Seas. Scheduled to take place in September, this event will bring players aboard one of the largest cruise ships in the world.

The event will be hosted by Card Player Cruises and will include a 7 tournament series set. Players will spend one week on the cruise ship, from September 7 to September 14. The series will end with a $1,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event.

Last year’s edition also features a trip to the Caribbean, but the event was held at the Oasis of the Seas. At the end of the five-tournament series, Fred Samelian walked away with $13,200 in cash, a prize he won in the $1,000 no-limit hold’em main event.

The big finale: Bicycle Casino

The CPPT’s final stop will be one of the largest American poker rooms. Home to 175 poker tables, offering more than 100,000 square feet of floor space, the Bicycle Casino is located about 10 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. The modern poker room is surrounded by HD televisions. It’s an elegant and spacious room, with comfortable chairs and a smoke-free atmosphere.

CPPT has announced that the series will run from September 20 through October 14, with the main event beginning on October 11, but further details have not been published yet.

The tour has been at the Bike before. Last year, the casino hosted a 10-tournament series which ended with a $1,000 no-limit hold’em event. The main event offered a guaranteed prize of $300,000, won by Thomas Beckstead.
