Odds Remain Unchanged after First Round of NFL Drafts

Cleveland and Minnesota were both 50-1 odds, according to OddsShark.com Friday morning.

Latest gambling news report that NFL championship odds remain unaffected by Johnny Manziel’s arrival in Cleveland and Teddy Bridgewater’s arrival in Minnesota, after the NFL draft.

On Thursday, before Manziel was picked at No. 22, online and mobile betting sites were posting 50-1 odds for the Browns and the Vikings were at 66-1. Odds remained the same on Friday, after the drafts.

In an interview published Friday morning, Jack Randall of Odds Shark explained: “It’s not a huge surprise that the top of the Super Bowl odds board was unchanged, because none of the impact players in the first round were available to the top teams.”

Teams preparing for the championship

The two teams traded up to select the quarterbacks during the draft. Earlier this week, both the Browns and the Vikings had passed on quarterbacks to select players for defense. The Browns got Justin Gilbert from Oklahoma State as a cornerback, with the eight pick.

However, oddsmakers were right when they predicted South Carolina player Jadeveon Clowney would go first overall to Houston, but the odds remained 40-1 for the Texans on Friday.
