Female UK Journalist Makes History With Fabulous Poker Win

Victoria Coren Mitchell, writer, TV presenter and professional poker player, grabbed almost GBP 400,000 and created history in the poker tradition.

She made it into the gambling news when winning the latest season of the European Poker Tour in Sanremo, Italy, which made her the first ever two-time winner of the EPT.

Victoria triumphed over 556 entrants and took home close to GBP 400,000 as well as a watch worth over than GBP 4,000.

She managed to neutralize Jordan Westmorland and was the last at the table with Giacomo Fundaro. Beating him allowed for a history making finale of the 98th EPT main event.

Impressive past

Before her latest win Coren Mitchell posted an exciting message in the social media, which read: “Heads up!!! I knocked out lovely Jordan Westmorland, now it’s just me and Giacomo Fundaro for the title HOW IS THIS HAPPENING???”

Apparently her win is not just a lucky coincidence as she was the first woman to win an event on the EPT, after countless hours of practicing at land-based and online casinos in the UK.

Victoria was also the first player to win both a TV celebrity tournament (Celebrity Poker Club 2005) and a televised professional tournament (EPT London 2006).
