The schedule for the prestigious 2014 European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final poker event has been announced.

The Monte Carlo event is the Grand Finale of the 2014 European Poker Tour, and it will be hosted in one of the most luxurious French poker rooms in Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort. The massive 48-event poker festival is scheduled to take place between April 23rd and May 3rd.

This series will mark the end of an eventful European Poker Tour, which has been running for its tenth anniversary season.

Ahead of the Grand Finale in Monte Carlo, Edgar Stuchly, the current European Poker President, had the following comments to share with French gambling news: “The EPT has been leading the way in live poker for ten years, and this year’s EPT Grand Final will be the biggest and best ever. With more tournaments than ever before at lower buy-ins alongside our other events plus a wide range of cash games, a greater variety of players will be able to experience the EPT, creating a fuller festival atmosphere.”

The main attraction of the Grand Final

The poker series in Monte Carlo will host 48 events, catering to all levels and budgets of poker players. However, the most anticipated tournament will, naturally, be the EUR 10,600 buy-in no-limit hold’em Main Event hosting under French gambling laws. The event of the series will start on April 26th and will run until the winner is decided on May 2nd.

Last year, Steve O’Dwyer took the honors in the Main Event of the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Finale. The American poker professional bested a field of 531 participants to take home the title and a hefty first prize of over EUR 1.2 million.

What else to expect in Monte Carlo?

Well, the main event in Monte Carlo is mouthwatering, no doubt, but what about the rest of the 47 events? The giant EUR 100,000 buy-in Super High Roller, may not be for everyone, but it’s certainly going to draw a lot of attention. It runs between April 24th and 26th. Last year’s winner, Max Altergott won a whopping EUR 1.75 million beating 50 elite players.

Another big one to look out for is the EUR 25,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em event between April 30th and May 2nd. Steven Silverman took home EUR 775,400 winning this event last year. For poker players with pockets, which don’t run this deep there will be tournaments with buy-ins as low as EUR 330.

Poker varieties at the EPT Grand Final

In case you’re wondering what types of poker you can play in Monte Carlo – here’s the list: 2-7 Draw, 5-Card Draw, A-5 Draw, Badacey, Badeucey, Badugi, Chinese and variants, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Pineapple, Pineapple Hi/Lo, Razz, Stud, Stud Hi/Lo. Limit, no-limit, pot-limit, or mixes will be available.

Besides the tournament play, there will also be a range of cash games at over 40 tables. Again, cash games will cater to all type of fans wishing to play poker in France with blinds as low as EUR 2/4 and all the way to EUR 200/400.

How to qualify for the event of the season

Naturally, poker amateurs and professionals will be able to buy-in directly to any of the 2014 European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final events. However, one of the best online poker sites in France, PokerStars will host a wide range of qualifiers and satellites for the big event.
