The online casino industry in New Jersey continues to grow and Borgata reported a 15% increase in profits.

Online casinos in America are continuing their upward trend. Boyd Gaming and MGM Resorts International, owners of the Borgata casino in Atlantic City, have reported a 15% increase in month-to-month profits for their internet gambling sites.

Last month, Borgata and its online partner bwin.party Digital Entertainment have managed to generate $3.9 million in revenue. The amount represented 41% of New Jersey internet gambling profits. “Online gaming is growing our database, creating a long-term opportunity to market Borgata to an entirely new group of customers,” said company president Keith Smith.

Mobile gambling going up

With American gambling laws giving the green light for the legalization of online gambling, New Jersey was among the first three states to jump at the opportunity. Since November, when the first online casino became available in the state, the industry has been continually growing. According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, gross win has gone up 28% last month.

Now, online casino operators are preparing to take their services to the next level, which is mobile gambling. “In January, Borgata launched a mobile gaming app for iPhones and iPads, and we are scheduled to roll out a version for Android devices shortly. As Borgata expands into mobile gaming, we believe we will further grow our business and the overall market,” Keith Smith added.
