The splendid EPT Barcelona will take place from 16th – 27th August 2014. The organizers expect that both the attendance and the prize pool records will be broken.
EPT will be partnering again with the regional Estrellas Poker Tour which will host its Barcelona Main Event around the same time: 16th – 21th August.
Barcelona is a special place for EPT
Edgar Stuchly, EPT president, commented on the gambling news: “The EPT was born in Barcelona so it’s very fitting to celebrate EPT’s 100th event in true style and with unforgettable poker.”
He added: “EPT Barcelona is one of the most popular tour stops and attracts players from all over the world for the fantastic mix of beaches, iconic architecture, party atmosphere and world class poker.” The event will follow strictly Spanish gambling laws, so both the host country and the organizes will enjoy the benefits of the festival.
In 2013 EPT’s partner Estrellas Poker Tour event in Barcelona attracted an impressive 1,798 runner field with the EPT equivalent very close with 1,234 entrants.
Barcelona brought extraordinary luck to Tom Middleton who won EUR 942,000 at his 2013 EPT Barcelona Main Event triumph.
EPT started in September 2004 and since then it has awarded over half a billion euros in prizes, created 39 millionaires and involved over 180,000 players in its tournaments.
