Feel The Romance And Bet On Twenty20 Cricket This Weekend

It’ll be a great day in Sabina Park, the Kingston sunny giving the International Twenty20 match a glorious warmth for both the home side and visitors alike, the curving north stand giving it a the atmosphere of an arena. The question is can India bounce back from their defeat to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy or are the West Indies a better bet on Twenty20 cricket this weekend?
West Indies vs India
• Sabina Park
• Kingston
• Saturday July 8th
• West Indies – 10/3
• India – 2/9
Pakistan’s defeat of India at the Oval was what is politely termed “comprehensive” which is to say after showing remarkable fortitude at the crease, Fakhar Zaman particularly helping them along with a superb 114, they piled up a goodly total of 338 and then proceeded to hand the Indian batsmen their arse with a merciless onslaught from Mohammad Amir and Hasan Ali that scattered any hope they had of winning. A lot of people in India bet on Twenty20 cricket that day and lost, will this weekend be different?
One thing is for sure, the tourists are going to have to do a lot better than a paltry 158 to get a win on Saturday, and they’ve not exactly inspired confidence among those that like to bet on sports in India failing to make a measly 190 in the last match coming up 11 runs short. Their batting line up might look great on paper but there’s something very wrong when they put the pads on and they’re actually not quite as obvious a bet on Twenty20 cricket as they might at first appear. Sometimes, they’re just ghastly.
Bet On Twenty20 Cricket At Bet365 This Weekend
Obviously hopes of improvement hang on Shikhar Shawan and Ajinkya Rahane, if only because Mahendra Singh Dhoni has shown weakness in the face of good bowling whilst Ravindra Jadeja seems off his game, his last error all too expensive. Just what Virat Kohli can do with them to ensure there isn’t a repeat performance is anyone’s guess, but he’s not known for his diplomatic language when displeased so you can probably bet on Twenty20 cricket seeing a few fireworks in Kingston.
It is perhaps a sign of just what sort of match the West Indies are expecting to note that they’ve recalled Chris Gayle to the side and if you’re Indian gambling news of his inclusion is a sign of panic it might just be to miss the point. Chris Gayle is a local boy who has never played a T20 international at Sabina Park, it’s a fairytale set up that the hosts will be hoping produces a happy ending and even the most hardy soul that likes to bet on Twenty20 international cricket matches there’s still a little room for the romance of the game.
Fairytale Finish For Local Hero Gayle?
India will be all too aware this isn’t to be overlooked. Pakistan’s dream Champions Trophy win an all too obvious example and anyone about to bet on Twenty20 cricket this weekend should remember that up against Evin Lewis and Kyle Hopes their bowlers will also have far more practical considerations. Opposite them the West Indies bowling doesn’t have the teeth it perhaps should but Jason Holder and co can look back on that last victory and give emulating it a dashed good go, and who’s to say they won’t.
Currently you can get 10/3 on the West Indies pulling off another miracle, and whilst that’s as tempting a bet on Twenty20 cricket you’re likely to see, especially with Chris Gayle ready wow his home crowd, and if India are favorites still at Bet365, garnering a slightly cagey 2/9, that may only be as good as it seems on paper and not something you should take advantage of Indian gambling laws to back on Saturday. Romance may well be dead, but fairytale endings are ten a penny, and this is ripe for one.
