New Jersey Continues to Finalize Online Casino Rules and Regulations with Online Promotions Guidelines
New Jersey has unveiled their rules regarding promotions as online casinos in the US state prepare to go live later this month. These include the provision for rollover or cashout amounts that customers need to wager before they can cash out their promotional winnings.
There are likely to be quite strict checks and balances on all forms on online gambling in the state, as the US comes to grips with the new American gambling laws that finally allow legal online gambling. One of the rules that will be in place is the banning of the aforementioned cash out promotions until 30 days after online casinos go live on November 26th.
New Jersey has already announced the extension of their self-exclusion list after it proved a success in land based gambling. Anyone who have placed their name on the list for Atlantic City casinos will automatically be added to the online and mobile casino exclusion lists.
The Director of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, David Rebuck, was adamant that the state put specific guidelines in place for online gambling, instead of just bringing land based rules and regulations online. He also believes it’s important for the casinos to not place any restrictions on the amounts a player can win.
He also called for transparency when outlining the terms of promotions to customers, saying that any terms had to be clearly laid out and easy to understand.
New Jersey is just one of 3 US states who can legally offer online gambling services. Joining them are Delaware and Nevada, although New Jersey seems to be the only one actively looking for a boost in revenue from the operations. Whatever happens, this is an exciting time for gamblers and institutions alike in the US, and it’s only likely to get more interesting as mobile gambling appears in the coming months.
