Two more Atlantic City Casinos Gain Online Licenses

The Trump Taj Mahal and Trump Plaza Casinos Both Collect their Online Gambling Licenses as New Jersey Gears up for November Launch

Joining in on the online revolution sweeping the US at the moment are two more Atlantic City casinos. The Donald Trump owned pair of Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino, and Trump Taj Mahal Casino joined the Borgata casino and Golden Nugget casino in the race to be the first online casino in America.

With online gambling coming to New Jersey on November 26th, casinos on Atlantic City’s strip are queuing up to become the first – or one of the first at least – live online in the northern state. Due to American gambling laws ceding power to individual states when it comes to online gambling legislation, New Jersey has quickly shot past its competitors to be first in line for an online casino.

The other states where online gambling has been made legal – so far, that is – are Nevada and Delaware, but they have taken very different routes once the legislation made it through their local governments.

While Nevada was quick to launch the first legal online poker site, they failed to get through the right legislation to launch an online casino in 2013. Meanwhile, Delaware have gone down the social and mobile casino route, offering their casino as a freeplay application across the world. They see online casino gaming as more like a marketing tool than an actual money making machine.

So with the Trump casinos joining the cue, and 4 more of the remaining 10 Atlantic City casinos all awaiting their licenses, New Jersey’s online gambling scene is all set for that launch come November time.

Interestingly, though, both Trump casinos have chosen different online specialists to partner with. While the Trump Plaza Hotel & Resort has chosen Betfair to work with, the Trump Taj Mahal has gone with Ultimate Gaming. On the other hand, Golden Nugget are planning to run their online service in-house.
