Swedish bingo, lottery and scratch card market opens for Microgaming in a deal with Kombispel.
Wordwide online gambling software provider giant Microgaming has launched a new service with Swedish operator Kombispel. The groundbreaking agreement for the Swedish market was made possible through Genera Networks, a local game provider.
According to the deal, Kombispel’s website is to feature Microgaming’s Swedish online bingo, scratch card and lottery titles.
The gambling market in Sweden is heavily regulated by Swedish gambling laws. The state-regulated lottery firm Kombispel (formerly A-Lotterierna) is behind the Kombispel domain.
A Microgaming spokesman revealed on Wednesday: “This is the first time that Microgaming has set up an arrangement with a member of the World Lottery Association (WLA) and builds the foundation to a new network.”
A statement from Microgaming described: “The union of these key industry players allows operators of Genera Networks access to a new world of games through Microgaming’s portfolio of products.”
Genera Networks director Rickard Stromberg commented on the possibilities: “When looking for a company to work with, Microgaming was the natural fit. Its content is world renowned and we are excited to see how Swedish players respond to this.”
Stromberg added: “This agreement gives our existing users access to a whole range of new products and expertise, as well as allowing us to expand our operations and attract new players.”
Roger Raatgever, Chief Executive Officer for Microgaming, added: “As well as providing us with a portal into the Swedish market, which we had not yet entered, we are excited to see how we can strengthen Genera Networks’ offering. After the first month our content is already proving as popular with Swedish players as it is elsewhere.”
